Locally-sourced restaurant expanding its offerings, eliminating weekend dinner service
Brunswick, GA – For the past two years, The Farmer & The Larder has become a popular locally-sourced restaurant in the heart of historic downtown Brunswick. Located at 1523 Newcastle St., the local eatery’s menu has been inspired by the cuisines of distant lands and local cultures while combining coastal Georgia’s fresh seafood with the natural, unprocessed herbs and vegetables Food Alchemist Jovan Sage and CheFarmer Matthew Raiford tend at his longtime family farm.
Much of what has made the restaurant a local favorite is its mastery in taking diners on “educational adventures in taste” with its wide-ranging culinary classes, its popular “Wine Down Wednesdays,” and its locally-minded dish samples for “First Fridays." However, it’s the restaurant’s small private events and public gatherings that remain a staple of their establishment. “Guests can book our entire space for bridal showers, office holiday parties, and even couples cooking classes,” said Jovan Sage. “We work one-on-one to create a delicious custom experience.”
The Farmer & The Larder will now focus on booking small private events and expanding its offerings of cooking classes and events; Sunday brunch will continue weekly from 11am - 2pm and dinner will no longer be served. In addition to the classes and events, Sage will head up Sage’s Larder, a food and wellness company, while Raiford continues transforming the interior construction and design of his newest brick-and-mortar venture, Strong Roots Provisions.
